Getting married next year?
Hey all. I'm getting married next year with my fiancee and I wondered how in general costs a wedding? I heard it was between £ 5000 – £ 15,000 for an average wedding, but im not sure. We have already discussed what expenses we can reduce it, such as transportation, food etc.and I work full time and About GET £ 1000 after tax per month currently. But what do you think spending is not so important? After we got married, we plan to start a family too, and since we be married, would I have the same rights and responsibilities for our future child / children as will my fiancee? Also, my fiancee is a Danish citizen, so What nationality is the future of our children since we are married by this time? Would they have a choice between the Danish and British citizenship? Cheers, Jake We live in Guernsey, Channel Islands which is a dependency of the British crown, so what nationality could they?
I think the quote you have been given for a typical wedding is pretty accurate. Of course, everything depends on how many people you will be asked where you want to host, the cost of clothing and equipment etc. If I reduce the cost, I would choose a dress presonally cheaper. There many beautiful wedding dresses there and they do not cost a small fortune. Besides, you use only once. Mine has nothing is hanging in the closet for the last 8 years. I would also reduce the waiting staff and opt for a wedding buffet style and define my own tables and make my own tabledecorations, invitation cards, if you can do without a band or have friends who play for you as a wedding gift which will also save you a lot of money, etc. If it is socially acceptable to make a wishlist with both present, but also money for Start your new home. My husband and I are Danish / Greek and although we did not want for money, it is socially acceptable to give money in both cultures and we actually made a profit of our marriage, when we had not tried to reduce costs. Your rights and responsibilities to a future child / children to come should be the same for both of you. If you are married, your child should automatically have both dual British and Danish. However, Denmark does not allow dual citizenship for adults, so if your children want to stay after Danish citizens age 21 years, they need to complete an application and send it to the Danish government before their 22nd birthday. Once approved (usually it is sufficient if spent 1 year in total in Denmark during their childhood and adolescence, holidays etc.), then they must renounce their British citizenship.

The Average Family’s Guide to Financial Freedom $21.48 Bill and Mary Toohey are average middle income people from a small Iowa town. Bill has been employed for 23 years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and Mary has worked for 20 years as an Office Manager for a small psychological firm. They started saving and investing in 1991 when their net worth was $63,000. Eight years later their net worth was $467,000. In other words, their assets increased by an average of more than $50,000 per year during that period while their income (not counting dividends and capital gains) averaged about $65,000 per year. Tim has been severely disabled since birth and despite the challenges of helping Tim cope with his chronic illnesses, the Toohey family has been able to achieve financial freedom on a modest income. They were able to build a sizable nest egg in eight years while encountering some of life’s biggest expenses during the period. They helped to pay for their daughter’s college education and wedding, paid cash for a new car, and made several expensive home improvements. Despite those major expenses the Tooheys still managed to save 460f their gross income and were listed among the "Best Personal Finance Managers in America" in the December 1994 issues of Money magazine. The Tooheys’ story, in an article written by Bill, appeared in the April 1997 issue of Money magazine. Mary co-authored an article published in the February 1998 issue of McCall’s magazine. In May, 1997 Bill was invited to speak at Money magazine’s Elgin Project seminar series. Money magazine "adopted" Elgin, Illinois and brought in speakers with expertise in personal finance. Former President Bush kicked off the event. How did they do it? How do they think? How do they live? Is it possible to save so much and still have a decent life? Can my family do this? Get the answers to all these questions and more in a book written specifically for families with children who don’t earn big bucks. |
